Hinge is the most widely used hardware accessory in home, so besides the good quality of the product itself, it is also necessary to install it correctly. Today, I will introduce the hinge structure and how to install it. Let's take a look.
I. Introduction of Hinge Structure
Hinge, also known as hinge, is a mechanical device used to connect two solids and allow them to rotate. Hinges can generally be divided into three main structures, namely, hinge head (iron head), body, base, and other accessories of hinges, including connecting pieces, shrapnel, U-shaped nails, rivets, springs, adjustment screw, base screws, etc., which are kept dry in daily life to avoid hinges and other hardware in humid air. Lubricating oil can be added regularly every 2-3 months to ensure smooth and silent pulley.
1. Hinges can be generally divided into three main structures: hinge head (iron head), body and base.
A. Base: the main function is to lock the door panel to the cabinet;
B. Iron head: the main function of the iron head is to fix the door panel;
C. ontology: it is mainly related to the number of doors covered.
2. Other parts of hinge: connecting piece, elastic sheet, U-shaped nail, rivet, spring, adjustment screw and base screw.
A. elastic sheet: it is used to assist in enhancing the load of the connecting piece and to match with the spring to produce the function of opening and closing the door;
B. Spring: it is responsible for the tensile strength (2.3kg-2.8kg) of the door panel when it is closed;
C.U-shaped nails and rivets: used for combining iron heads, connecting pieces, elastic sheets and bodies;
D. Connecting piece: the key to bearing the weight of the door panel;
E. adjustment screw: as a function of adjusting the cover door, it is used in combination with the hinge and base;
F. base screw: used for combining the hinge with the base.
Second, how to install the hinge
Prepare tools before hinge installation, and the next steps are to draw lines for positioning, fix the hinge cup, fix the base, and debug the effect. Pay attention to the installation position and quantity during installation, and also pay attention to prevent falling fans, grasp the clearance distance, and ensure the matching of accessories. When installing, ensure that the hinges on the same fan are on the same vertical line to avoid the door and window fans from bouncing up.
1. Prepare tools
Prepare special installation tools before installation, such as measuring tape/spirit level, carpenter's pencil for line drawing and positioning, carpenter's hole opener/pistol drill for opening, screwdriver for fixing, etc.
2. Line drawing and positioning
First, use the installation measuring board or carpenter's pencil to mark and locate (the drilling margin is generally 5 mm), and then use a pistol drill or carpenter's hole opener to drill a 35 mm hinge cup installation hole on the door panel, and the drilling depth is generally 12 mm.
3, fixed hinge cup
Put the hinge into the hinge cup hole on the door panel and fix the hinge cup with self-tapping screws.
4, fixed base
After the hinge is embedded in the cup hole of the door panel, open the hinge, then insert and align the side panel, and fix the base with self-tapping screws.
5, debugging effect
Finally, open and close the cupboard door to test the effect. General hinges can be adjusted in six directions, aligned up and down, and the two doors are right and left. The best effect is to debug the cupboard door, and the clearance after closing the door is generally 2 mm.
III. Precautions for Hinge Installation
1. Pay attention to the installation position and quantity.
Theoretically, the greater the distance between two hinges, the stronger the bearing capacity. Of course, this also depends on the reality. For heavy home doors, three hinges can be used, and for ordinary doors, two hinges can be used.
At the same time, it should be noted that the hinge can not be installed at the corner tenon joint of the door and window sash body, and it is best to install it at 1/10 of the strength of the door and window sash body, and to avoid the distribution of three equal parts, two hinges can be arranged next to each other to avoid the situation that the door leaf leans outward.
2, to prevent falling fan
Falling fan refers to the poor installation of doors and windows, which leads to the gradual increase of the upper gap and the gradual decrease of the lower gap, resulting in poor switch and even falling off in severe cases. Generally, the reason for this situation may be that the hinge with too small specifications is selected, or the matching screws are not used.
3, grasp the gap distance
The gap between the hinge and the door panel must be well grasped, otherwise the appearance will be ugly. The normal gap of the door panel is 3-5MM, and expansion joints should be set aside.
4. Make sure the accessories match.
Whether the hinge groove matches the height, width and thickness of the hinge. Whether the hinge is matched with the screws and fasteners connected with it. The connection mode of hinges should match the materials of frames and doors, for example, hinges used for steel-framed wooden doors, one side connected with steel frames is welded, and the other side connected with wooden doors is fixed with wood screws.
5, fan shaft should be the same vertical line.
When installing, ensure that the hinges on the same fan are on the same vertical line to avoid the door and window fans from bouncing up.
